Properties of N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone
N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone exists as a kind of colorless or flaxen clear liquid with slight odor at the room temperature, crystallization under 13℃. It can dissolve in water and a variety of organic solvents. It is of active chemical property, and is very easily to polymerize and hydrolyze. It’s easy to hydrolyze and polymerize itself but It can remain as liquid at room temperature for extended periods. Usually,stabilized with NaOH or TMHPO as polymerization inhibitor.

Application of N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidoneN-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone can co-polymerize with a series of monomers. NVP can be used to produce widely used polymer-PVP, which can enhance the film-forming intension and the adhesion force in dyestuffs. NVP is one of the most important raw materials for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, auxiliary for beer precipitation. NVP can also be used as icing of the tablet, dilute agent of the ultraviolet radiation absorbent, coat of the foam haircut agent, medicines with the effect of disinfection and sterilization.
