What is  2-Butyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one BBIT ?

2-Butyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one BBIT CAS 4299-07-4 is pale yellow to red brown liquid. It belongs to a kind of isothiazolone ketones of whose compounds have a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect against bacteria, fungi, yeasts and other microorganisms. So it is widely used in industrial vooling circulation water, papermaking, adhesives, textiles dyes, paint, construction materials, leather, light industry, metal processing oil, plastics, polyurethanes, agriculture and forest environmental protection and other fields etc.

Anti-Bacteria properties of BBIT

BBIT effect can be evaluated by available minimum inhibitory concentration. Minimum inhibitory concentrations does not mean the usage effect, but it stands for the broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity of BBIT. BBIT has more effect on controlling mildew and fungi erosion, especially in high temperature. BBIT is a good choice of fungicide for plastics, polyurethane and other polymer materials.

Application of BBIT

BBIT is recommended for use in applications with high conditions, especially outdoor with high UV environments. It can be used mainly for protection and surface anti-bacterial of PVC, silica gel, acrylic resin, polyolefin, polyurethane.
