2‑Ethylhexanoic Acid is a branched‑chain aliphatic carboxylic acid. It is clear, colourless to pale‑yellow oily liquid with characteristic mild odour. Slightly soluble in water, miscible with alcohols, ethers and most organic solvents. It is key raw material for manufacturing various metal salts (2‑ethylhexanoate), widely used for paint driers, PVC stabilizers, catalyst and polymer additives.
