Use & Application
USP/BP grade benzyl benzoate acts as pharmaceutical raw material and excipient. It is well-known parasiticide for topical preparations to treat scabies and lice infection. It can also serve as solvent and solubilizer for oily injection formulations, helping dissolve lipophilic active ingredients.
Fragrance grade benzyl benzoate works as perfume fixative and diluent in fine fragrance, cosmetic and flavor formulas. It slows down the evaporation of volatile aroma components, extends fragrance lasting time and harmonizes scent notes.
Industrial grade benzyl benzoate is used as plasticizer and high-boiling solvent for cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose and synthetic resins. It is also adopted as miticide additive, and auxiliary agent in coating and synthetic rubber industries.
