Appearance: Colorless, transparent, viscous liquid at 25℃; becomes cloudy and solidifies at low temperatures, returns to clear when heated

Viscosity: 56–62 mPa·s (40℃)
Freezing Point: about 17–22℃
Solubility: Miscible with water in any ratio; soluble in ethanol, acetone, dichloromethane; insoluble in mineral oil and hydrocarbon oils
Hygroscopicity: Strong, better than solid PEGs like PEG1000, PEG4000
Stability: Stable at room temperature, not easily hydrolyzed; oxidatively decomposes into aldehydes at high temperatures (>200℃)
pH (5% aqueous solution): 4.0–7.5

Pharmaceuticals (Pharmaceutical Grade PEG600)
Solubilizer for oral liquids and topical ointments, moisturizing base for ointments; plasticizer for soft capsules; solubilizing excipient for injections.
Cosmetics and Personal Care
Moisturizer, solubilizer, emollient; used in serums, creams, and hair & skincare products to improve the solubility of water-soluble fragrances and active ingredients.
Industrial Uses
Intermediate in organic synthesis for making PEG esters and non-ionic surfactants;
Metalworking lubricant and cooling aid;
Ink and dye dispersant;
Polyurethane and resin modification additive.
Textile Industry: Softener and spinning lubricant.

Application
1) PEG can be used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemical engineering, rubber, metal finishing, pesticide, pigment and spinning & weaving fields.
2) PEG is also one of the main materials of ester type surface active agent.
