Basic Introduction
Phthalic anhydride (commonly abbreviated as PA) is a white flaky or crystalline solid, a fundamental bulk organic chemical raw material. It readily reacts with water to form phthalic acid, and reacts with alcohols to produce phthalate plasticizers (such as DBP, DOP). It is irritant to skin, eyes and respiratory tract.
