DL-Tartaric Acid, also called racemic tartaric acid. It is a synthetic racemic mixture of D-tartaric acid and L-tartaric acid. Different from natural L(+)-tartaric acid extracted from grapes, DL-tartaric acid is fully chemically synthesized. It is a versatile organic acid with strong acidity, excellent chelating and buffering capacity, widely used as food acidulant, pharmaceutical excipient, construction additive and industrial raw material.
