Application & Use
Primary active raw-material for cosmetic depilatory cream, hair-removal products. It cleaves disulfide bonds of hair keratin to soften hair for easy removal.
Reducing agent for permanent-wave hair‑processing formulations.
Industrial reducing agent for leather treatment and fine-chemical synthesis.
Important note: Distinguish anhydrous CAS 814-71-1 vs trihydrate CAS 5793-98-6; trihydrate is more common in commercial cosmetic market.
